I have an Italian 1851 Navy with a 1974 proof date marked C.O.M. on the underside of the barrel. I assume it’s a manufacturer’s mark but I can’t place it. Any help?
 
This section is for originals made 1865 or earlier. This should be in the "handguns" section 2 or 3 topics above this one on the main page.
