I bought a Zouave 10 bore shotgun from another forum member this summer. I've been thinking about converting it to more of a smooth rifle: Cutting the barrel down from 33" to 26", adding a rear sight, and eventually having the barrel lined to .62 cal. Is it doable, practical, Worth it?
I do a lot of brainstorming and thinking out loud on this forum and very few come to fruition, but I'd like to know your thoughts. Thanks

"Customizing" any factory gun seldom increases value, many times not only decreases value but makes guns harder to sell - goes for modern as well unless the original was not much to start with. Work/features by well-known, respected gunsmiths are the exception if they're appropriate. If the end result makes the owner happy, that's all that matters.

Plan to keep it forever and that's what you want? Go for it.

Think your tastes may change with the times & make it expendable? Enjoy it as-is & save your money.

My opinion and yer welcome to it.

Well, I finally got my T/C 12 gauge back from the gunsmith, which I plan to use for bird hunting, etc. I was thinking I'd use the Zouave as more of a dedicated slug gun. It already has the Zouave front sight, so I thought I might at least have a Zouave rear sight installed, if it can be done. Thanks for the input.
