Very new to the ML world so please excuse what may be a really dumb question.

When dealing with a particular type of rifle, a Kentucky long rifle, a St Louis Hawken etc is there any kind of interchangeability between brands?

For example would the barrel off of a TC Hawken mate up to a Lyman lock/stock, a tang site from one match up to another, the stock from an x mate up with the lock/barrel of y...

Any info appreciated thanks!

The Lyman/Investarms Hawken and similar rifles are copies of the TC Hawken with enough differences to avoid copyright problems and while they don’t just ‘drop-in’ parts from one can be made to work in the other.

I currently have a Lyman Hawken Hunter stock with a TC lock and triggers in it. Need to figure out and do a little more clearance for the half-cock to work right and a little trigger clearance.

To put a TC barrel on a Lyman stock requires a bit of file work on the barrel hook but a Lyman barrel will usually go right on a TC tang/stock.

As for the tang sights, the Lyman peep for their guns is the exact same one they sell for TC’s and only requires a hole to be drilled and tappoed if your tang isn’t already D&T’d. And sometimes a spacer may be required.
