Colleagues,

Recently I was given a Kentucky style flint by a shooter leaving
BP. It is a .45 cal flint by "R. Newman".
Anybody know anything about this maker or rifles he built?
I would guess it is 10 or 15 years old.

A couple of other things: The barrel is a straight octagon
13/16 ths, 42 inches long and the lock is made of castings,
probably a small Siler.

Thanks,

Mainspring
