Inflation in Europe; Recession Feared, Factories Seeing Huge Supply Costs

News reports of manufacturing problems in Europe will no doubt affect BP gunmakers. Natural gas cut-offs to factories and soaring costs due to the War, (remember, they're much closer to Ukraine than us!) will undoubtedly rise prices for our beloved Pedersoli and Pietta items. All affecting the much-mentioned "supply chain" issue as well. One poster here said if you want something, get it now, and that is good advice.

I, agree. Supplies from Europe are going to get scarcer. The supplies of popular revolverfrom both Uberti, and Pietta are drying up. lots of Pedersoli rifles, are non-existant. I have been watching one, but don't want to spend the money at present. We will just have to make do with what we have.

There's a Peder website, w/ no prices. There's a dealer for Peder in N. England, I think it's called Flintlocks, Inc. Google around! Follow any local auctions near you to see if they have periodic gun auctions.

Here in France supplies seem to have been uneffected. The main online gun - buying site is still full of BP revolvers and long arms, and the prices dont seem to have risen any. One thing which is getting more difficult to find are percussion caps, which now retail for 22 Euros for 250.

One of the parts manufactories I deal with went out of business due to lack of raw aluminum.
They say China has the worlds supply and they are not sharing.

EU export rules and US import rules on firearms and yes, the EU considers BP firearms, have become more strict in the last 3 years also. That is causing significant delays and export issues. Many of my contacts in Spain have simply given up trying to maintain their expensive permits to export as it has become way more complex and time consuming.

Thick at the BOOM area for a few inches. Then step the barrel diameter down.

Old single barrel shotguns sell for less than the price of a new barrel. Chop off part of the chamber and install a breech plug. I’ve seen bunches of old double barrels without actions occasionally at antique stores. Same deal.
