Midday Last Friday a box arrived from the auction house in Maine containing the contemporary Hawken rifle I bid on. It's beautiful. The auction verbage did not do justice to the quality of the rifle I unboxed. I am presently building a photo and text post for all to enjoy. At the moment I'm doing due diligence disassembly and cleaning off the many years of dry corrosion on the screws, under the barrel, wedges, etc,. The rifle was from the "estate of" and there were several other firearm type items listed. My guess is my piece was a wall hanger for many years. There is lot of patina but no evidence of wear or other use.

My question is: does anyone know of a lock maker named ROBBINS (which is inscribed inside the lock plate)

The 54 caliber barrel is a w.m. Large with J.J.J.J. stamped under the name stamp.
