I was able to take it to the antique roadshow in Baton Rouge several years ago. The appraiser said the inlays were German silver, and if it didn't have those it was worth $400.00 With the inlays he said $800 to $1200. The top of the barrel has the initials of it's 1st owner on it. S.T.S. that's the only marks I've ever found on it. He was the great great uncle of the girls mother who gave it to me. I'm planning on leaving it to my son.
