A few Months ago, I bought a Danny Caywood Smoothbore, that was also fitted with a .58 Cal. Barrel. This was off of Gunbroker.Anyhow, I was rooting around in some Roundballs that I got off my Unc and found a .58 Ball. Long story short, it sat on top of the Barrel. Seems like I got a .54 instead of a .58. This is good, in a way, `cause I won`t have to cry and moan for a new Mould....

been there. bought a 54 pistol off Gbroker. did not have one. Tried a .530 ball, hummmm....its a 45. They did not know how to mic a barrel or at least read....kept it as it was a bigger hassle to deal with the seller than keeping it....

Ype!

I see it all the time, at gun shows. The chemical gun guys have no idea what they have or what caliber it is. I saw a guy, at the last Reno show, with a .38 Caliber, Pietta, 1860 Army Model. Looked a lot like a .44 to me!
