Amazing.....certainly not a place for an old guy to climb up to ! I'll bet that high in the air worked great..

This is where I am right now, a have my treestand from archery season about 60 feet in front of me, saw several deer from it but was not able to capitalize on any opportunities.

In the 1st pic,you can see the blown down oak , and pine the oak took out, that I am sitting in as I type, viewed from the treestand.

There us a game camera between my position and the treestand, this guy was in front of it the day before yestyesterday,

In case your wondering about my posting this while sitting here. There is a human trail just past the treestand. Some clown just walked his two rat terriers down the trail like most mornings. He has walked past me several times never knowing I'm there. I figure the area is fouled for a little while.
Of course the fool has no orange on, but the guys with the guns have to dress like traffic cones.

I would have to say "BOO" as he went past. I could not help myself.

I’m going too go sit this one now.

IMHO, Hunting styles really depends on the conditions you hunt.

I hunted NW Al. for most of my life.
Hunting during the 70’ & 80’s was completely different from what’s there now.

Now, I’m a 120 miles North, in Tn.
The rut occurs earlier & the buck to doe ratio is completely different as well.
Which makes for some great hunting opportunities.
Cover, availability of water, food (whether supplied by nature or man where legal ) I have no issues with.

Everybody has their own opinions, as it should be.....

I’ll be looking for this one’s Grandson.

When we can draw a tag, we hunt the Desatoya Mountains in central Nevada. The hunt is certainly good for some heroic exercise. That little white speck in the middle of the second photo is the truck down the mountain a bit:

Then here are a couple of the stands we use when hunting my friends family farm in Green Lake County, Wisconsin:
