Hi,
Does anyone have any information on the gunmaker I.C. Stöhr in Hesse-Hanau around 1750?
Best, Joe

Apart from the fact that the Jaeger Corps rifles attributed to him fetch astonishing amount of money, there seems to be very little on the internet to find. Probably Stockel can help, but I'm info'd out

Thanks, I will ask. Would you mind taking a look; it is signed on the lock which has been converted from a LHS.jpg

flintlock.

I guess as I acquired it from the old country (not too far from Hanau and in an area where Hessians were active through the 17 and 18th centuries) it is not so valuable. I shall fix the wrist and consider what to do next. It looks like real fire is in the wood.
