was that a round ball or a ballet and how many grains of powder, wow nice shot. I plan to practice tomorrow with my plains pistol using 45 grains of 3f and a 535 rb this delivers a little over 500 ft lb at muzzle as required in Illinois for antlerless deer.

Good day all, thought I had better chime in. I took a nice doe with a my .54 Ingrham underhammer, PRB and 60 gr of 777. Shot was just shy of 50 yds. with open sights, and it was COLD! But everything worked despite the weather, and the deer dropped in place, with an hour left on the last day of the muzzleloading season, did I mention it was COLD?
