As I said, there's little hope of changing anyone's mind. That's mostly because they are immune to evidence. The decisions made to ban lead are baed on hard scientific evidence, not on the conspiracy theory of the moment, and they are intended to protect game, people or both. That's the reality, like it or not.

The state makes a judgment based on the science, puts out a new regulation, but that regulation runs contrary to what a hunter wants. So, he rejects the regulation, claims he knows the science behind it is bogus or incorrect. He neglects to say how he knows. He declares that the state is out to do him harm, so is now his enemy. Now, of course, he has the moral obligation to ignore the regulation and do as he pleases, pats himself on the back as a true hero and begins advising others to do as he does. Who needs laws, we know what is true, regardless of mountains of evidence to the contrary. What's a little lead poisoning among friends?

Spent last 30 years sampling and testing air, water, ground and even my own blood. Had near unlimited access to advanced instrumentation where PPB is a big number. Scared me badly. The earth is a closed environment. whatever is created within it stays. Whats reported is heavily filtered. I had DDT in me before i was born You probably do too.

This is the same state that refuses to tell that the landfills in the LA (nd other cities) pump known carcinogens into the air 24/7 ( google vinyl chloride).

Tombob for non lead round ball for California legal hunting. Experiment with patch and load data for your rifle. I think they fly a bit faster in what I have tried. Fill the freezer with no worries.

I would want to confirm with California that whatever projectile was being used was on their approved list and any required proof was being carried. Here is a list that appears to show California approved metals manufactured by Rotometals. https://nrm.dfg.ca.gov/FileHandler.ashx?DocumentID=152531&inline
I would be quite hesitant about using lead in the bore while ‘carrying’ extra non-lead balls to show wildlife officials while hunting. They could easily check the bullet wound of any game taken with a ‘lead detection kit’ for any trace of lead.

The kalipornia teacher's union and gavin pelosi-newsom must have some of their retirement money invested in Rotometals.

I do understand your point perfectly. The problem is that you are taking the “mountains of evidence “ at face value and have not given any consideration to questioning the motives of the the people who produced said mountains of evidence. Very seldom any more you find objective studies that really tried to get to the truth of anything. Did you notice who sponsored the studies? Organizations that are expecting a result!... and the State uses their “findings” to drive agendas unrelated to the study. If you haven’t noticed that in the last 30 or so years you haven’t been paying attention. The best example is the banning on DDT to protect the bald eagles, a true scientific study the discovered the cause of eggs softening up and so on. DDT was banned and the eagles made a come back. In the case of CA, banning lead has had ZERO impact on condors coming back, why? Condors take ten years to sexual maturity, laying only one egg, predation of fledgings from exploiting coyote and golden eagles populations were more likely the culprit. I guess my point is to take evidence with a grain of salt, and believe me I have been eating all kinds of game shot with lead and casting bullets for 35 years, in the millions now, my lead level are lower that the average angelino.
