I'm new here but not new to black powder shooting. I recently built my first flintlock kit and killed a deer with it. I'm currently trying to work up an accurate load for my .54 cal Thompson New Englander.
 
Welcome from NH. My .54 WMC liked .490 round ball with .015 patch (bore butter) and 80 gr 2F Bp . sprayed conicals all over the place. Had a 1:48 twist. Kick myself for selling it but now have a .50 WMC I’m playing with
