Hi All. Been shooting many years with centerfire toys and am just discovering bp. This is the fault of a friend who let me take a shot with his Hawkens and that was all it took to get me hooked.

Picked up a Traditions Hawken a few weeks ago and put an 1858 on backorder :) to feed this new obsession. Whitetail season is only 6 months away...

Looking forward to learning more from you guys!

Another convert! Welcome aboard! I hardly ever shoot those other things anymore, in fact I have not shot them for over 5 years now.

Thanks guys! I am in Fairfield county.
LOL - I would be LONG gone too but work, mostly my wife’s job, keeps us here behind enemy lines ;-)

Yup, full converted zealot now. I have always liked the added interaction you get with a lever action or bolt action but BP is a whole other level.
Going this weekend to take my first shots with my own Hawkens and figure out loads etc!

Oh god. RUN AWAY! That's where I grew up. Commuting every day for an hour! Ugh. Greenwich, Darien, New Cannan.
Once you move out to the woods and can shoot in your own back yard you can never be talked into moving back. 🤪
P.S. Wife found a new career up here and is much happier not living on top of neighbors.
Welcome aboard.
