The proper formatting for paragraphs is as follows...

If not providing space between paragraphs, you indent.

If providing space, you do not indent.

Will the forum software allow an indent?
    Nope.

    Double Nope.

I'd like to add an extra space after I italicize a word because it bends it do far over into the next word, but the software auto corrects that too.
It's all grammar,, the only ones who care are English majors and they just want to correct your spelling or be promoted to Captains anyways!

Actually, I think it will allow you to indent, if you know how?
                       Indent
                               Indent
                                        Indent

    See answer       above.

    OK Claude.

Are you going to let us in on your secret method of making indents and spaces after I make an italic word, or are you going to just keep it to yourself?

    [tab] Like this?
    [tab][tab] Or this?
    I'll be darned,
    [tab][tab][tab] It works!
    [tab][tab][tab][tab] Thanks for the lesson.

An italicized[tab] word leans too far to the right.
    Huh, it works there too

I'm not sure what control+shift+? is really trying to tell me.

[tab][tab]But, putting in "start bracket tab end bracket" did this. (This is putting bracket tab endbracket two times.)

[tab][tab][tab]Just for the hell of it I'll put three bracket tab end-bracket's in front of this line to see what it will do.

When I say start bracket I'm talking about one of these [

When I say endbracket I'm talking about one of these
    ]

The letters "tab" (without the quotes) is short for tabulate I guess. Whatever it is short for, it seems to tell the browser to put about 8 letters worth of space in there. That seems to be for a "Tab", not for putting a space between two words.

All of this is kind of a
    [tab][tab][tab]PITA
so it probably isn't worth doing much of the time but I guess I did learn something from all of this. :)

You don't need the TAB code. Quote my post, look at the code, nothing in brackets.

             No Tab
                            No Tab

    I'm entering what's known as a "non-breaking space".

            On the Mac, it's Option-Spacebar.

                    On Windows, it's Ctrl+Shift-Spacebar.

In HTML, it would be: " " (without the quotes)

OK. I'll try control+shift and hit the space bar.

    Ready?

    5,4,3,2,1,Nothing. :(

Holding Control+Shift and then poking the space bar, nothing moves or happens.
Holding Control + Shift and poking the Enter button nothing happens.

Entering [ ] does this. (There's a space between the brackets).

Poking the [ Then hitting the TAB button entered my post into the forum before I wanted to enter it. Weird.
