Curious how others keep their extras.

The flint wallet is one I made that stays in my possibles bag.

The storage box I bought a couple of years ago at Hobby Lobby in the raw (cheaper than I could have built it) and I stained and finished it.

There's a few in each shooting bag, and a few more in the range bag, and a handful in the cigar box on my desk, and a couple babyfood jars out in the shop, and a handful over at the farm where I used to shoot a lot, and a couple in the top left-hand drawer in my office, and a half-gross in each of my powder storage stashes.

Probably more scattered around. If you have them everywhere, you never have to remember where you put your flints. There's always the problem of having leftovers when you no longer own the gun a particular batch was sized for. I gave away my Bess more than a decade ago, still finding musket flints. . . .

"The Container Store" has all sizes of small plastic boxes which is what I use.

I have one for pistols and one for rifles, each holds all the various sizes that I need.

I've been doing it for many years after hearing of flint knappers who preferred fresh dug chert because of the water it was exposed to. Some also keep certain types in water because it makes the stone work more predictably for them.
