Up for sale is a partially finished Pecatonica Longrifles blunderbuss kit. I got an urge to have one about five years ago and got it about 3/4 done when I came down with a debilitating illness that put me out of action for a couple of years. Feeling better now but lost the urge figured I might as well move it on since I'm not going to finish it.
Quality parts as would be expected from Pecatonica. 20" .75 cal barrel octagon to round with a cannon turned muzzle, L&R Queen Anne round faced flint lock, nice tight grained walnut stock and all steel furnitjure. The following is a list of what I have done and the photos show the quality of my inletting.
Breech plug fit and touch hole bushing installed.
Barrel and tang inlet and barrel pinned in place. Tang bolt drilled through and tapped into trigger plate.
Thimbles inlet and pinned in place.
Butt plate inlet and trigger and plate inlet. Lock and sideplate inlet and lock screws drilled tapped and installed.
Basically whats left to do is clean up and inlet the trigger guard, clean up and polish the barrel and furniture and finish and finish contouring carving and finishing the stock to your liking.
The stock is a nice tight grained piece of walnut that will hold carving well or you can finish simply.
Pecatonica gets $675 plus tax and shipping. I'll make someone a deal at $500 and shipping is on me. I prefer postal money order but personal check is fine with a couple of days to clear.
