Well, I guess there is not any!
Just research early cartridge guns. Paper cartridges guns were being tried about the same time as brass cartridges were being developed. Lots of interesting things were being tried.
Paper cartridges predate the American Revolution but that's as far back as my interest in them went so I don't have much to offer.
The story goes the Gustave Aldophson king of Sweden was the first to make wide spread military use of them during the Thirty years war. They seem to have been mentioned earlier, but drawing of soldiers consistently show apostles on bandolier through the early stages of the war
