I tried to post a video but it was to long so I'm going to try a few pictures. I bought this rifle out of Oklahoma it has a JP Justice warranted lock curly maple stock barrel marked Henry nothing else. I was told it was a plains rifle,indian trade rifle and a buffalo rifle.

The Philips head screw is a modern invention.
Always irks me when I see them in the Hatfield and McCoy TV series.

Take a look at some online woodworking stores. Many of them carry solid brass slotted screws.
