I've seen several recipes for "Apple Pie for Sippin' "
Here's one such recipe
  • 1 qt. oz apple juice
  • 1 Qt. apple cider
  • 3 cups sugar
  • a dozen cinnamon sticks - divided
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 750 ml 190 proof Everclear grain alcohol
You can also buy "apple moonshine"...

Well at $84 dollars a gallon, I wish the maker all luck in the world, but kiss-my-biscuit, that's a waste of good "corn licker" IF it was made with "corn Licker"....if it's made with something akin to Everclear, well that stuff is solvent, NOT moonshine, so have fun. I use 190 Everclear to make Limoncello

Proper 100-120 proof corn-liquor, aka white whiskey, has it's own unique flavor, and quite frankly should not be adulterated...alas many states require it to be "stepped on" and sold at a mere 80 proof. :(

For my taste I like a weaker pie, brandy is my liquor for it. Im a dry guy so I’m light on sweet. And I like musky of a cider over juice.
