Friends, our 2nd Amendment rights are always under attack and the NRA has been a constant for decades in helping fight that fight.
We have partnered with the NRA to offer you a discount on membership and Muzzleloading Forum gets a small percentage too of each membership, so you are supporting both the NRA and us.
Top gun is definitely not a Dragoon. Too small, and as has been pointed out, flat sided. Also, if you expand the pic, you can tell the barrel is octagon. I've never seen a Dragoon with an octagon barrel.
Here’s a member of the peanut gallery again. I still think the top model is a 2nd gen 1851 and not a Dragoon. It doesn’t look large enough compared to the others, the loading lever is wrong, and it looks like the trigger guard and grip frame are silver plated. I don’t know if this is definitive, but the trigger guard and grip frame on my 2nd gen 2nd model Dragoon aren’t plated.
When I think Dragoon the first thing I look at is the cylinder size. Longer than any other BP revolver cylinder. Just massive. I'm talking full size not Baby Dragoon.
