Sorry, but I don't see a maker's mark in that pic.
It's French. The 2 on the barrel tang is all that remains of 1842 model.
The barrel was originally from a French military musket. The crowned "E" is the barrel proof. The "9" is the month the barrel was proofed, in this case, September. The "S" is for the arsenal which was Saint Etienne.
In the previous post you mentioned a fancy L or J. Either/both of those letters fall in Saint Etienne production. That is a prefix block letter assigned to a quantity of 100,000 arms. Saint Etienne used prefix letters from F to Q.
Off the top of my head that is all I can tell you. I'm in the middle of moving and my books on French military arms are still packed in boxes.

I have no idea what the monetary value would be. Generally speaking military arms converted to sporting purposes are valued less than one still in its original military configuration.
Clear photographs of the entire gun taken in good light would help with any assessment.
And maybe if you temporarily added some definition to the stamps they would be easier to see. One way to bring out any engraving or stamping is to use a piece of old chalkboard chalk like they used when many of us were in school. When rubbed over the metal surface, the chalk helps make any markings much more visible, and itās easily cleaned up leaving no evidence anything was done. As an example, both the following photographs were taken at about the same distance with the same camera and lighting (handheld, so slight difference). Difference is that before the second photograph chalk was rubbed into the engraving. Believe you can see that one is significantly easier to read than the other. No other adjustments or funny business between the two photographs.
