That appears to be a T/C tang mounted hunting sight. Can't tell from the pictures, but they had a sight for the Seneca & New Englander type rifles and a sight for Hawkins and Renegades. The difference was in the bases, be they curved or straight.

Thanks guys definitely straight base. Got in a box of stuff today gentleman going to do an online no reserve auction with lots of ML stuff and had around 17 Lbs of Goex 2F 3F and 1 Lb 4F and around 2000 Caps that he didnt want to deal with and a friend sent him my way a box of misc stuff I put together he sold me for $50.00 the powder and caps were free. Had 4 45 Cal Cherokee barrels 2 in good shape other two rusty bores. Could have spent a couple of days going through everything will watch the auction since it is local pickup and very few shooters of BP in the area should be plenty of cheap deals.

Don’t know why I needed seven Cherokee ramrods but my dad always said the best time to buy something is when you see it it.

I have been very lucky over the last couple of years have enough powder to last quite a while and more accessories than I will use, there are two stocks in this auction one maple and one walnut that were starts of guns and a full length 40 caliber barrel that fit the maple stock that someone could build a beautiful gun from unfortunately I have no building skill. I am not sure if it would violate the rules on here but I would put the auction sight on if anyone was interested it will be a two part sale and I am sure that the ML Items will go pretty cheap.

People make WAY too much fuss about flat or curved base on these sights. The one on my Renegade is a curved base ‘sposedly for New Englanders & such and several times l have used the flat based sights on New Englanders.

If it were me and I wanted to use the sight I would just build a base for it like this one under the sight on my Hawken.

I've never needed to shim the TC sights when putting them on a TC gun. But I don't shoot muzzleloaders a 'mile-r-more' like you & Lewis. LOL Just kidding. You guys amaze me.
