Hey guys,

Recently came into contact with an OLD one. Much older than I am used to dealing with

Please help me out with identifying it

All I could find out so far is maybe Birmingham proof house?

Crossed sceptred BPV and V were in use by the Birmingham Proof House between 1813 and August 1904. Brass barrel and furniture often indicate that the arm was intended for use by a naval person, but the attached bayonet and non-captive ramrod seems to mitigate against this possibility. Perhaps it is a travelling pistol, intended for a gentleman for self-protection.
