Good afternoon,
New member so not a clue if I’m posting in the right area, so forgive me if I’m in the wrong place.
I have recently inherited the below pistol but the details about it have been lost to my grandfathers dementia unfortunately.
I would love to know more about if anyone can help, and also if I need to add it to my home insurance!!

thanks In advance
Adam

Lancer more likely, naval pistols usually have brass furniture for obvious reasons. Interesting that it has two sets of proof marks, one for King George IV [R. 12 August 1762 – 26 June 1830] and other Queen Victoria, but with a lock-plate from King William IV [26 June 1830 until his death in 1837] . No signs of conversion from flint to percussion though, so its likely to date around Victoria's succession to the throne in 1837, after the death of her uncle, William IV.

A real puzzle.
