Bill Transue here from Indian Head, MD. I am a family guy and am retired active duty Navy and as Navy civilian employee.

I have and not messed with Muzzle Loaders in about 50 years. Just bought a .50 cal inline and looking forward to learning and shooting black powder. I always appreciate learning from those with experience. Thanks for letting me join the forum!

Welcome Bill. :)
As the others mentioned, we are a traditional muzzleloading site so the newest style gun we talk about was made in 1865. (Reproductions of these are fine to discuss.)

Here's a link to our sister forum, Modern Muzzleloaders. They are mainly into talking about the modern style guns.

Don't give up on us though. If you want to see what it takes to shoot the old style muzzleloaders, we are (IMO) the very best on the web.

Not knocking your home team here, but an in-line is just a modern gun that requires more care. When first you shoot a traditional you’ll never want modern again, when you see that first flash in the pan as your shooting even cap guns might pale for you. When you take your first game with a smoothbore rifles become less appealing. It’s a slippery slope, but come on down, the ride is a blast.
By the by thank you for your service. Myself a TM3(SS). We need more squids, as it’s rumored there are some jarheads,Airedale’s and groundpounders on this forum.
