I just wanted to introduce myself. I am an avid lever action fanatic and have recently turned my sights towards muzzleloaders. I am hoping to learn more. I started with an inline and have recently purchased several percussion muzzleloaders and thinking about purchasing a flintlock eventually. I'll leave a pic of my latest purchase which is a CVA Hawken 50cal when I can figure out how.

Welcome 10acres, from the state of Nebraska. This forum is the place to ask questions if ya need help with the CVA.

Welcome from the Treasure Coast. I just started last year with the same Traditions Hawkins .50 caliber rifle you have! It was a kit gun my cousin gave me. He got it from a gun show, and it was so cheap he thought it was a wall hanger. The original owner was not a gifted craftsman. The front sight is on backwards, the set trigger didn't work, and the rings to support the ramrod were glued to it! Got the trigger working, the ramrod working but left the backwards front sight on because it shoots great!
