Hullo! I am brand new to muzzleloading (I bought my first gun this past weekend) and I am very excited to meet new people and learn all that I can. I live in central Indiana with my wife and dog and soon will have a little boy (due October 7). I'm a great lover of 18th century history and have always loved the look of flintlocks. After I discovered the NMLRA, I decided to pull the trigger as it were, and purchase my first muzzleloader: a CVA 50 cal flintlock mountain rifle. I am interested mostly in hunting and, down the road, reenacting. I am looking to meet folks near me who might not mind taking a tenderfoot on a hunt or two this winter. Thanks all!

Welcome to the forum. It seems to be a good one, I have been posting a lot here lately since I decided to get back into black powder.

Got pics of your rifle?

Ah, great! Pics, and good ones at that. Thank you!

Lock appears to be different. What's the story on that?

Welcome to the forum my friend.

Many members here with vast amounts of knowledge and experience. They’d be more than happy to answer any questions that you may have?

You stated that you live in central Indiana. Are you of any chance near the IL. border ?

I ask only because I’m on the IL. side just 10 miles from the IN. border. Do quite a bit of shooting in Indiana. Have many friends on your side of the border.

Lastly, on a personal note. I’m originally from Wyoming. Gonna be moving back there for good in the next year or so? I always said that if I was to stay in the Midwest for good? It would definitely be Indiana ! Great folks and Great State.

Welcome aboard my friend.

Respectfully, Cowboy
