Hi folks! I just found this forum and think it's going to be very helpful. I've been in firearms pretty much all my life but am a 'newbie' when it comes to muzzle loaders. Recently a friend inherited a large number of antique firearms. Most of them are long guns and a there's quite a few muzzle loaders. I have offered to help identify these. Over the next few weeks I plan on posting some pictures and ask for your expert advice. There's some really nice eye candy and I think it's going to be fun.

Welcome aboard.

Why not have your friend join the forum and he can get the info first hand? He might also have some questions of his own. :)

Welcome to the group. Trying to I.D. old guns can be a hoot. Be sure to post photos of any marks when you do. sometimes they can be in odd places too.

Thanks everyone. Jack, she's a lady friend and the inheritance went to her finance. Neither have ever been involved in forums like this so I thought it would be fun to help out. Maybe down the road they might want to get more involved.

It's a rainy day here so hopefully I can get some pictures posted. Of course I'll start another thread.
