Thank you for letting me in "The Muzzleloading Forum" Living in Denmark I am a black powder shooter. My "Darling" is this long rifle made in Indiana by Jacob S. Paulmer: Paulmer, Jacob S. 20200623. I love the look of it next to my desk and I love to shoot it at the Range. I have just received a Norris & Clement of Massachusetts model 1863 Type I with some stamps (letters) at the bottom of the barrel that I don't know anything about. Really hope someone can help me "on the way".
Kind regards
Bent

Welcome onboard here from upstate NY, it is a great site! I'm no expert by far but Ill give it an early try. On my 1863 Type 2 Springfield, its all original. I went thru it carefully cleaning off the crud from many decades of attic storage after I got it. I saw the barrel had similar stampings in the same place as yours. I was told it's inspector's stamps, that it was checked and passed inspection.

Also it nice to see someone from my ancestral home land. Both Mor and far are from 🇩🇰 Denmark and I have family there. Watching Tour de France now since it's in Denmark for the next few days. Farrel. Hilsen Anders.
Tak Anders :) - My Granddads' brother emigrated to the US in 1904 and we are still connected to Second cousin in Florida and other family in Houston Texas. - A bit in front - Happy July 4th :)

Thank you RicM! I too think they are inspectors marks and I will try to find out, who the inspectors were. I have found one from the wooden right side AJNstamp that was:
