New forum member from Sharpsburg, Maryland. Just joined today to gain some knowledge about muzzleloaders. Never owned one before but definitely want to get into it. Living near Antietam Battlefield has always had me interested in thr guns that spew clouds of smoke.

Greetings from "far away", Damascus, Maryland.
Remember when you get tired of the fad of caplocks, there is always flintlocks. 🤪

Dont worry about that, I want to get either an 1803 Harper's Ferry Rifle or an 1807 Contract Rifle maybe even a 1792 in place of the 1807. I just dont have time to build on of those Rifle Shoppe kits nor do I know of any gun buiders with time on their hands to build the kit. For now however im on the prowl for a .577 Enfield Rifle 3 Band or 2 Band doesnt matter as I would like to own both. Id rather it be an original but a reproduction would do if close enough attention is paid to match the original.

I was at Antietam as a youngster with parents. Lost a pair of sunglasses in the Creek! Hmm, didn't something memorable happen there back in the day? Welcome, it's a helpful site.
