Working on a heavily swamped .62 smooth bore pistol barrel. One inch breech and .95 muzzle. 10 inches long. Percussion.

Using one inch diameter 1018 DOM with .188 wall. I'm certain it won't blow up using normal loads. 60 grains max.

Question: What would be the minimum barrel wall thickness at the swampiest part of the barrel?

Once again, thank you to the brain trust.

P.S. I searched this here on the forum and the internet. Nothing.

I have a pair of 8" .60 swamped barrels from Paris barrels. If I go out in the shop today, I'll try and remember to measure them. BTW, 60grs is alot of powder for a pistol!

No further help required.

Settled on a .115 barrel wall.

She'll fit nicely into a Kentucky pistol stock.
