This horn holds 1,500 grains of powder by volume, 22 drops @ 2 1/2 drams (68.35 grs) or 17 drops @ 3 1/4 drams (88.86 grs) . When held up to light/sun the level of powder is visible through the horn.
I spent a good bit of time cleaning both the horn and brass, the bottom was damaged and I removed 3/4" then made a new plug from oak and tacked it on (drilled the horn for tacks).
I sealed it the same way it was (this was), with pine tar/ pine rosin, the top of horn is stepped down wrapped with silk thread and the collar is threaded/glued on and the valve is threaded to the collar (remove to fill), the eye had a lanyard that attached to the bag (bag was rotten, gone), the horn was rubbed with true oil.
$100 to your door (U.S. only) PayPal,money order.
