Is anyone on the forum familiar with the geometry of the rifling used in origin Hawken or other noted makers' rifles?
The number of grooves?
The width of lands versus the width of the grooves?
Curved bottom, rectangular flat bottom, round bottom or trapezoidal grooves?
Sharp corners or rounded corners?

To start things going he used 1 in 48 twist in most calibers. Flat crown on the muzzles and a very slight taper to the OD , about .040” to .060” from breech to muzzle.

A bit more, they had 7 lands and grooves, the grooves are narrow and the lands are about three times as wide as the grooves.
