Just curious.

Why do you want 32 inches of octagon and 4 inches of round at the muzzle?

A rifle you're trying to replicate?

Thanks.
A true trade gun isn't in the budget now so I want to put this barrel on my Traditions Kentucky. It will be a .54 smoothbore. I have a thread on the smoothbore forum about it. Kind of a poor mans Brown Bess!

Oh! So you're going to overhang the stock by a few inches.

I can see that working.

Being someone who's built more than his fair share of Traditions Kentuckyish rifles, you can really thin those stocks down and remove the chunkiness.

Good luck with her. Post pics of your build as you proceed.
