Pyrodex is much more corrosive and will etch the bore, even with prompt cleaning.

Sez you. My experience is much different.

Have used at least 50 pounds of Pyrodex. Pyrodex is no more corrosive than black powder. My cheap old Stag Horn rifle has fired well over 3,500 rounds, all using Pyrodex. The bore looks new.

Properly clean your gun and the bore won't be trashed.
