Friends, our 2nd Amendment rights are always under attack and the NRA has been a constant for decades in helping fight that fight.
We have partnered with the NRA to offer you a discount on membership and Muzzleloading Forum gets a small percentage too of each membership, so you are supporting both the NRA and us.
I picked this up today for very little along with a 12 gauge with a snider conversion
the breech plug was loose and easy to pull and there is still rifling with some pitting but I have not attempted to clean it up yet. No markings on it and it is missing the lock.
Any ideas on origins and what I should do with it? It measures about 38 calibe with a 29” barrel. Barrel is 1.025 near the breech and .982 at the muzzle.
Due to the patch box and stock shape I’ve wondered if it might have been full stock at some point. If so, the barrel was likely shortened and the underrib added. I can’t find any name or symbols on the barrel. It also doesn’t look like it ever had a fore end cap.
