I’m diving into my second build. This one is a cherry stocked 54 cal. Using mostly CVA parts. Trying some different shaping than I did on my first build. Wanting to pour a pewter nose cap and use an entry thimble on ramrod hole. Also raising the cheek piece higher.

I don't have the patience, skills or work area to build a firearms, but I have a lot of respect for those that do. That's very nice work. Cant wait to see the finished product.

There is 1/4” cast off. Thanks everyone for the comments. This is fun and a good learning project. Trying to build on lessons learned from the last project. Best part is finding out what hand tools to get. I sure am glad to have the forums to research and learn from, it’s the next best thing to having a mentor!
