This was spare bbl I got with H&H buffalo rifle back 40 years ago. Never got to try the .502 balls from included mould. Original bbl would shoot all shots touching at 50y easily.

What holds that false muzzle piece in place while shooting?
 
Hi, Sinner, the false muzzle is removed after loading the rifle and before shooting; some false muzzles have a blinder attached that blocks the sight picture so one remembers to remove the false muzzle. You do not want to damage or lose the muzzle, it is integral and unique to the barrel it was made for.
