I have a deer creek u/h receiver and a colerain barrel but no stock and plan to make one (never having attempted one before). I'd like to know the length, approximate wrist diameter, and approximate drop.

Both the H&A and the Deer Creek have about the same dimensions though the H&A Buggy rifle has a shotgun butt with a plastic buttplate and the Deer Creek has a rifle buttplate. These dimensions are approximate: Pull 14". stock to back of action 12.5", Drop 2.5", wrist same as back of the reciever (about 2.25"). If I were going to make a buttstock from scratch I would research how to measure pull and drop for you and make it to fit. You can buy stocks here: http://www.longrifles-pr.com/underhammer.shtml
Nice looking rifles. Yeah, I figure drilling the hole for the bolt will be the hardest part. I think I'm going to drill it first, then work the stock around it.
Drilling it is not too bad if you have a full size drill press and align the bit with a center screwed to the table (or base). I have found it definitely helps to drill from both ends and let the holes connect in the center. I have also seen similar arrangements made for hand drills that should work, but these are done on a horizontal plane with the bit passing through a board to keep it aligned.
That was my first thought. I do woodworking and am sure that will be the most logical approach. You can also use that hole to make a bolt brace while you shape and finish the stock.
