Guns of Outlander Season 6

We put together a fun video taking a quick look at some of the guns used in the current season of Outlander ahead of the season finale this weekend and discussing some better or more realistic options they could have chosen, including Brian's Kibler Colonial Rifle. There are definitely spoilers if you haven't watched the show, but we didn't comment on the actual story line much, mostly just the guns. Take a look and feel free to share.

Very cool. I guess we were very spot on calling out a Kibler then. Are you the armorer for the series? If so, I applaud your work. The gunplay in the series is very good overall. Do you know the sources for Jamie's pistols?

I am one of the armourers, it’s basically a two man show so a heavy workload….

We took over half way through season six, and as such have a lot of “legacy” stuff that we have to use for continuity/budget purposes, but are slowly but surely managing to get the correct stuff in, and give it the attention to detail it deserves.
As a life long F&I and Revolutionary war enthusiast, the amount of incorrect stuff we has does irritate, but it’s getting better, as are the accoutrements.

Jamies pistols are of Indian manufacture, they are already being replaced after the 18th century version of a “boating accident”….

Outlander is a historical drama television series based on the ongoing novel series of the same name by Diana Gabaldon. Developed by Ronald D. Moore, the show premiered on August 9, 2014, on Starz. It stars Caitríona Balfe as Claire Randall, a married former Second World War military nurse in Scotland who, in 1945, finds herself transported back in time to 1743. There she encounters, falls in love with, and marries a dashing Highland warrior named Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), a Tacksman of Gabaldon's fictionalized version of Clan Fraser of Lovat, and becomes embroiled in the Jacobite rising.

What is Outlander?

A pretty cool show. I watch it on Netflix but originally it comes from one of those pay channels. The show is set back in the day. Originally it was Scotland and then the main players came to the colonies. Lots of T&A, Love story, action scenes. A little bit of everything. You will like it.

Confession time. My wife got hooked on this show (despite the overly graphic sex) and I watched a couple with her without a lot of interest. That is until they got to the “Colonies” in the storyline. This rekindled an interest in American history and inspired me to buy my first flintlock!

I wouldn't say overly graphic sex. Besides some visuals normally standing, there are some sex scenes and those are under bed covers. I wouldn't even call this soft porn.

I'll pass on it. Hollyweird can't get much of anything right, I usually just end up annoyed with anything on t.v. or movies.
Besides, these days I struggle greatly ro distinguish and understand dialog from the background music and sound effects, generally not worth rhe struggle.

I have plenty of books to read and stuff to do outdoors.

I started watching the Outlander series about a month or so ago…currently in season 3. But admittedly have not watched in a couple weeks.

Season 1 was pretty good, but too much sex scenes made it distracting. Fortunately the sex scenes tame down after Season 1, so I continued watching, or just fast forwarded through them. The jumping back & forth through time…you just ignore…and you’ll be fine.

Almost stopped watching in Season 2…it was very choppy, and it took a long time for the series to have anything to do with the historical time period of the 1700’s. My dad watched the series years ago, and just stopped watching at season 2…because it took so long to return to the 1700’s.

My wife, apparently read some books in middle school, that the series is based on.

Over all, not bad…6 out to 10.
