Big boxes of desiccant work well in my safe.

So do bags of rice poured into tube socks.

I haven't tried kitty litter yet, but it would probably work.

Damp-Rid too.

I run a golden rod and a remington desiccant dehumidifier. When the color of the desiccant turns pink, I plug it in, it warms up and releases moisture. Once the desiccant is blue, it goes back in the safe.
I have no issues. Power can go out and the desiccant works. Power on and the rod works. Extra humidity and they both work.
