New member from Derby, KS. Late last year I joined the Chisholm Trail Antique Gun Association located near Benton, KS. Started out getting hooked on Cowboy Action Shooting. Finally got everything I need to compete in that discipline and am having a great time. But a couple weeks ago I attended my first muzzleloading shoot at the club. Now I'm hooked on that too! The only muzzleloader I have is a kit built .50 CVA Kentucky rifle that my wife bought me at a garage sale 2 or 3 years ago, and have never fired until the match I attended. But it shoots. Currently looking to upgrade though. Like the popular meme says, "I will never financially recover from this". I may be poor the rest of my life, but I'm having a heck of a time, and I don't regret it one bit!

Great philosophy! Have fun! Time flies the older we get!

Thanks guys! This is all new territory to me. I'm in my early forties, and have been shooting my whole life, but up until now it's mainly been black rifles and plastic guns. Joining the gun club has definitely helped to realign my interests, and given me exposure to different shooting disciplines that I had never been exposed to. I'm having more fun playing cowboy, and now playing with muzzleloaders, than I ever had with any other shooting sport. Due to the current shortage, I have made a hefty profit unloading those unused modern firearms, and grabbing up cowboy guns and reloading equipment. I wish I had been exposed to this year's ago. Now I'm trying to get my two boys hooked(age 21 and 11).
