Happy to be here. I shot my first muzzleloader at 10 years old and have been hooked ever since. I killed my first buck with an Investarms Hawken at 13. As a teenager I was a Civil War and F&I War reenactor and later did a lot of historical trekking.

Unfortunately the military, jobs, and starting a family got in the way. I had to sell my TVM .54 caliber Jaeger years ago when my wife went back to school. I am planning on buying a new smoke-pole to get back into black-powder shooting and hunting, and this seems like a great place to start.

Thanks for having me.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I'm a life-long resident of the Shenandoah Valley in VA, who recently moved my family to north-central Alabama for work. I'm mil and LE so I have been much more focused on modern firearms over the past 15 years, but am excited to get back to my first love of black powder. With a demanding job and two kids (with a third on the way) I won't have time to get back into rendezvous and trecking, but plan on doing some weekend shooting and hunting next fall.

I'm in Huntsville. We shoot in the North-South Skirmish Association just south of Birmingham about 5 times a year. We have a skirmish coming up the weekend of March 25-27th. If you are nearby, you should drop by and check us out! We need new shooters!

Thanks for the invite. I have some friends back in VA who shoot N-SSA and seem to really enjoy it. I'll be looking for something to do on weekends when I retire from the National Guard in a four years. I will try to make it.
