Hi,
Could anyone please tell me the twist of a Lyman Great Plains Hunter in .50 cal.
Thank you !
Fred

I'll answer my own question after a very "little" research.
The twist is 1:32 for minie type bullet, REAL bullet, or Plastic :barf: sabot

Be sure to shoot a group of Horandy Great Plains 385 gr hollow's. They knock smack outta stuff and are the most accurate in every rifle I own (I have never tried REAL yet)

I agree. I used Hornady Great Plains 385 gr. when I hunted deer and they are excellent and very accurate out of my 1-in-48" T/C .50 Renegade. I still have a box or two in my shop and I'll pop off a few at the range every now and then between PRBs. Shot some sabots too but never got accurate with them. Wasn't wild about what plastic left in my barrel either.

Idaho Ron has found that the Lee .500 pistol bullet paper patched works excellently. He routinely shoots elk quite far with it and a peep sight. He has turned many people on to this and they, too, have said the same thing. Not sure what size he resizes them to but uses onion skin paper.

Another vote for the Hornady 385's. They tested best in my 1:48 and I'll be surprised if they don't do as well in that 1:32.
