Got a jake this morning 10 yards shot skychief load about 28 ga. Flintlock. Then found about 20 morels and caught a few crappie. We are feasting tomorrow night. Good luck everybody.
Used to hunt chantrelles in W. Washington. They're unique and once you see one, you're golden.I’ve always envied people who can confidently pick and eat mushrooms. What a fun part of nature’s bounty. For some reason in CO, in my childhood, people were very diligent about keeping us from eating any found mushrooms. Must be a lot of poisonous ones in CO. The stories they told us kids has kept me from ever picking and eating mushrooms my whole life.
I was thinking more along the lines of smoked turkey and garlic shrooms but that's how I roll.To be sure the luck was all @sb 54 cal, he’s the one that got the bird. I haven’t been turkey hunting this year. Shrooms and garlic stewed wild turkey sounds delicious though.
