Just felt the need to add a Gill cup to the haversack today. Its 3 inches wide and 3 inches tall.

Not knowing what a "Gill" cup was, I looked it up. It is a measure for just under 5 ounces. Actually, by modern measures, it is .47 oz.
Some call a gill a half cup which is four ounces.
Oh, well.
 
They were used to measure out rum rations. 2" wide and 2" tall are the correct measurements. My crew received a little extra :haha:
