front sight height ?

I have a TC Hawken 50 cal rifle. I installed a TC peep sight on it with a Marble orange front sight that is .475 height. My peep sight is adjusted almost all the way up to get a zero at 50 yds. Do I need a higher or lower front sight to be able to have more elevation adjustment on the peep sight ?

You need a lower front sight, all other factors being equal while shooting from the bench.

Or you could put a shim under the peepsight.

the shorter the front sight, the higher to impact point. Just remember it is easier to shorten a front sight that to make it higher!

I bought a few washers to put under the peep sight. I'll try one and go from their

I was paranoid about filing my front sight but it paid off.

The washers worked great, one under each end of the sight.
