With the Fourth coming up, does anyone have any big cannon fireing events planned? If so , I am looking forward to photos or videos. Unfortunately, where I live, watching live cannon fire is a once every few years event. Although someday, I will have a small swivel gun. :yakyak:

hi ho fellow cannoneer chapter.

yep, got ten cannons. they range in bbl length from 6" to 12".

every 4 o' july, line them rascals up on the front lawn, put on my top hat and touch them rascals off. (blanks)

great feeling, bp smoke and a bunch of flags flying.

even if you don't have a cannon, fly your flag on the 4th... :v

..ttfn..grampa.. happy birthday U.S.A.

Sounds awesome! Wish I could be there. If 'The Old Fart' (dad) would ever get his lathe up and running ,I'd make one.

I'll have my swivel gun set up in my front yard also, It's only a 1" bore but it sure brings the neighbors out when you set off 400gr of powder. :shocked2: :shocked2:

chapter, when my 6" cannons were bought, they were $5.59 delivered, the most any of them cost was 22.00 for the 10".

the bigger ones were made by some machinests that i did some favors for.

to give you an idea how long ago that was. at time frame, would buy original perc penn type rifles in GREAT shape for 15-20 dollars

54 mountain,

thats more powder than is used in all my cannons. must be a great big bang.

..ttfn..grampa..

PS.. don't forget to fly the flags. the more the better..

Me too ! I am with ya 54mountain. I will pop off some Indian res fireworks and my 1" swivel.

that is a nice cannon and ..ttfn..grampa..

blizzard, if those little cannons shot a patched ball, it would be white go-jo lube.

that stuff works great. don't know why everyone doesn't use it..

thaks for that tip and ..ttfn..grampa..

Nice looking piece you have there! I just wish I had the brass available when I built mine,

I set mine up this afternoon and got 4 shots off before it started raining, Hope it lets up before dark.
The kids down the street came runnin' after the first shot and watched me load up and fire the next one, they all told me "That's cool"

Thank you sir ! The tiller is brass .,the barrel is bronze and the rest is steel.
