Was advertised on a local gun for sale board for 250.00, I just happened to see it when it popped up and sent an I’ll take it, ad just said nib Traditions cap and ball pistol for sale.

Appears the box has double duty. The little pistol doesn’t quite fit.

Agree with @Whughett, that pistol is not the pistol that came in that box judging by the shape of the trigger guard and the grip. What is it with the apparent notches in the barrel and the stock?

Do not see any notches but the foam box liner is cut to overlap the gun. Maybe cut that way to keep it secure in transit?

That little pistol is just setting deep in the recess. The cut out around the hammer looks to be for a flint lock.

The William Parker pistol uses the same box, foam insert, different labels on the boxes, mass production woes.

Yeah the foam is covering the gun but it is an impressive illusion.

A Google search indicates that a Davy Crockett pistol would be a flintlock.

My Crockett pistol looks different from the OP's. Maybe they changed the stock and barrel. My barrel is 9" long, and the grip is much bigger.
